Dan Shur is a lifelong devotee of challenging and disrupting the health care system. With over 25 years of industry experience, Shur has a unique appreciation for the needs and perspectives of patients, providers, payers, and benefit sponsors.
Shur joined GuideWell Connect after spending several years in the startup world creating innovative solutions in telemedicine and fertility benefits. Prior to that, he served in a succession of demanding roles at EmblemHealth, Cigna, Goldman Sachs, Prudential, and Cayuga Medical Center.
“I love to build things,” says Shur. “I am always questioning, tinkering, and tweaking on my quest to solve the barriers that get in the way of people and communities struggling with health issues.”
His experiences and leadership roles in hospital administration and patient care, health care investment banking, health plan operations, product development, line-of-business administration, innovation, and strategy provided him with exceptional insights and a deep understanding of how to improve the delivery of health care services. Dan received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University and a Masters of Business Administration from Cornell University’s Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management.
When not geeking out on health care, Shur is obsessed with finding amazing foods, exploring the world, and striving to be a good dad to a pack of awesome little kids.
